Very clean hotel with nice view from upstairs room and balcony across the town and to the distance. Pickup waiting at bus terminal after a long and quite difficult journey was wonderful.Tea and coffee and water are always available in reception which is run by extremely friendly, helpful, and caring staff with good English. Close walk to main Street with tourist sights and restaurants. During my stay the weather became really cold with a freezing wind but I was offered a blanket and given a heater. The biggest asset for my stay was the guide attached to the hotel Mr Souk who is a knowledgeable lifetime local of generations, and has exceptional English. We took a tour of the Plain of Jars and Old Capital and his guiding and ability to pass on so much information and experiences of his family really completed our stay. He was patient, and adapted to our interests and because the weather was so cold and I had bought nothing warm to Laos he even went to his house and loaned me his spare puffer jacket letting me keep it for the remainder of my stay. Thank you so much Souk!

We enjoyed two nights in this guest house which is the perfect location to visit the three main sites of the Plain of Jars. It is also walking distance to the town should you wish to explore, need an ATM or try some of the local restaurants. The owner, Abay, is extremely helpful and is very good at responding to messages, giving advice and generally making sure his guests get the best out of their stay. They offer a free pick up service for those who require it. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with AC if you need it. The breakfast provided is excellent. The reception area has tea and coffee facilities and you can also but cold drinks and we enjoyed an evening in this area playing cards and talking with other travellers. There is a wide selection of tours that are offered by the guest house and we were so glad to have had Abay with us as his local knowledge and information gave us a real insight and a deeper understanding of this area. WE had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend this guest house for a short or long stay.

The guesthouse is in a great location, right near to the town but also with lovely views of the countryside. The room was spacious, well equipped, and clean. The shower was hot, and the room was cool with just the fan, although there was ac as well. We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed it. The staff and owner, Abay, were really helpful, especially with transport. We really enjoyed our trips with Souk, the tour guide. We did a day trip to the main sights, then a 2 day trek to stay at a Hmong village near site 52 (plain of jars), this was an amazing trip and fascinating to learn more about the local culture and customs as well as the jars. I would very much recommend staying here and taking at least one of the tours on offer.

A comfortable and clean guesthouse. Was met when I arrived at the minibus station by Mr Souk who works for the guesthouse. Had an excellent day's tour with Mr Souk. We visited Jar Sites 1, 2 and 3 each of which were very different and atmospheric. Also learnt a lot about Laos history and the amount of UXO remaining in Laos from the second indochina war. Mr Souk was very informative and interesting. His English is excellent and he drove the comfortable minivan very carefully and safely. I'd very much recommend doing a tour with him. I wish I had longer to stay at this guesthouse and do a longer 2 day trek with Mr Souk to visit a Hmong village and other Jar Sites. Sadly I needed to travel on but hope to come back one day.

CENTREPIECE OF MY ASIAN ADVENTURE Sensational stay in a very historic location. All staff at the guesthouse were attentive and friendly, and willing to assist in many different ways. Mr Souk (driver and tour guide) with whom I spent two days is devoted to his community and country, and is a font of knowledge when it comes to Laos history, and is fun to be with. I have to admit a bias…I have travelled within Asia quite a few times, but my primary goal this time was to fill in gaps of my local knowledge, and to reach and experience the Plain of Jars. The staff at the guesthouse all go out of their way to assist and answer any question you may have.
